There has been many reports that the New Globe E1552 HSDPA USB Modems can not be unlocked. This thread started to solicit testers/experiment/find ways to unlock the modems.
The modems in question is with Firmware Version 11.608.13.10.158.
Most of these modems comes in "Red Boxes".
Wrong Assumptions:
Many testers said they were able to unlock their modems only to find out that it is the older models of E1552 they have and NOT the Firmware Version 11.608.13.10.158 even if they are newly bought. Must be old stock.
UPDATE :
Huawei E1552's in those boxes (big blue/white) from Globe can still be unlocked easily. The ones in the small red boxes are those with firmware version 11.608.13.10.158, hence, the problem with unlocking.
AFAIK, there are 2 types of Huawei E1552 available in the Globe's red boxes. Those with design sticker and those without sticker (like mine). At first glance, they are almost the same but actually differ physically.
Test Results and Conclusions:
1) Results of Query from known world experts in unlocking Huawei Modems...
FYI: We are coming to the same conclusion that at present, we
have not found the solution yet how to unlock the RED BOX GLOBE E1552 Firmware
Version 11.608.13.10.158

Please tell all DO NOT BUY THIS NEW GLOBE E1552

jau dont support patch unlock, but we try to make some
patch unlock solution if we find a way.

If you guys would at least get into the habit of back
reading, most of your ngawngaw would be unnecessary since the answers are all
there.
Now....for the last time for me, I will tell you again.
What we have problem unlocking is with Firmware Version:
11.608.13.10.158 (mostly in RED BOX)
Let me summarize why it can't be unlocked:
Out of the Box;
1) The counter to enter the unlock code is already set to 0 (zero).
2) The counter can be reset but at a cost and its expensive.
3) A tester still was not able to get the unlock prompt even after resetting the
counter. So it is not the solution.
4) Many have tried the "flashing" route including me and it fails each time.
Flashing is disabled.
So we are stuck...........gets?????
See the pictures below (for those who only understand pictures):
Picture-: Attempt to Downgrade the Firmware.
Picture-2: Flashing Hangs........will not proceed.
Picture-: Forced Exit with CNTRL+ALT+DEL
NOTE: The modem is still okay even after aborting the
flashing attempt but of course only with Globe SIM.
If you guys still do not understand the issue.........please
give up use of the computer and just stick with txting on your cellphone.

1) Tell people not to buy new E1552 with Firmware 11.608.13.10.158. But since you
don't know that until after you bought it.....the best advice is just not buy new
E1552 from Globe.
2) Recommend instead to buy new E1550 from Sun or new E1553 from Smart. These has
no problem with unlocking.
3) For those who already bought the Globe E1552 V11.608.13.10.158, the solution is
to sell them or swap them. There are plenty of people who does not care of
unlocking.

I Agree with you .........
but this modem has stopped firmware update after put the flash code!!!
and can not change the dashboard
we have 10 modem with this problum
