The phone automatically reboots into USB update mode after a successful Modify Oeminfo procedure (to ease the usage of USB Firmware Update procedure)
Restore SIM State** procedure is added
Samsung changes:
improved functionality of CSC Change procedure for the latest firmwares
* By using this checkbox the phone should accept all firmware versions during USB Firmware Update procedure. It doesn't generally mean that it allows version downgrade, because the phone can have different checks against that. It is usually used to let the phone accept a different model's firmware after a model name change.
** The Modify Oeminfo's Convert to Dual SIM feature creates a backup of the phone's original SIM state value, before it does the modification. The backup can be restored with this procedure.
improved Repair IMEI functionality with advanced IMEI security support
Supported Models:
Please note that our update is CPU based so it will work for all new phone models in the future with the same CPUs!
Here is a short list of well known current models that are supported by this update:
Now we have a dedicated server to make Chimera faster and more accessible from China. With this update, you will see an option at login to select your region: China or Global. Optionally, you can also change your region after login in the Chimera main menu, at the top right corner (server icon). By selecting China as your region, you will experience great speed improvements in Chimera, if you are based in China. The region selector is available only for China region users.

And many more...
Supported CPUs: Kirin 710/710A/710F, 810/820, 980/985, 990/990 5G
To make this work, you need a modified USB cable. Follow our
We have added over 150 new Qualcomm EDL programmers to support many devices. Tested and working on the following models but these programmers should cover many more phones! (TP is required)
Added support for Remove Huawei ID procedure (from bootrom mode), for all Huawei phones with MTK CPUs. Here is a list of a few famous models that are now supported:
Huawei: added Modify Oeminfo procedure for MTK phones
Core: improved stability of the firmware unpacker (used during procedures and in the utility section too)
Bugfixes:
Huawei: fixed a bug in Remove Huawei ID for MTK phones (previously it was unable to add screenlock/pinlock/fingerprint lock after a Huawei ID remove) [please let us know if it works]
Core: fixed a UI glitch when a connected phone doesn't have any procedures
LG: fixed a bug when doing Firmware Update from a KDZ file
We added a new, bootrom mode function to patch IMEI1 & IMEI2 for MTK Xiaomi phones with MT67XX series CPUs.
As always, your feedback is welcome! Tested and working on the following known models:
added support for SAR (System As Root) models (SM-A107F, SM-A107M, SM-M017F)
now we save NVDATA and NVRAM during Repair IMEI & Patch Cert procedures so you can restore the phone to its pre-procedure state using the Store/Restore Backup function (if something went wrong)
New features and improvements:
MTK: now we can change MEID for Vivo phones with MTK SoCs (by the Repair IMEI procedure)
MTK: improved hosting of dynamic contents for better download experience
Now the Patch IMEI procedure works on MIUI 13 for all MTK SoCs.
Pre-root is not required
It's not required anymore to pre-root your phone with Magisk to make the procedure work. But we kept the "Disable boot patching" option on the panel, so you can still use it for pre-rooted phones.
Known issues
According to our research the IMEI patch is removed after a factory reset. In a worst case it can cause the phone to unable to boot up and shows the "NV data is corrupted" error on the screen. In case of this error you must reflash the phone with a suitable firmware and the error will be gone. After that you can re-run the Patch IMEI procedure to re-establish the patching.
Samsung: added Phone Info procedure for devices connected in modem mode (when adb/normal mode is not available)
Root: we've updated the rooting mechanism, which could potentially increase the success rate of Qualcomm and MTK Root procedures (further developments are coming soon)
Huawei: added a new warning message for Huawei ID & FRP Remove procedure when we can't start the Factory Reset automatically
Core: now we're suggesting a default extract destination in the Firmware extractor of the Utility panel
Bugfixes:
Samsung: fixed the Auto Detect feature for newer phones on the Firmware Update panel
Core: fixed various bugs in the generic file downloader
Core: fixed a bug which could cause crashes during application start if specific Anti-Virus softwares were used
MTK: added OFP file support for Update Firmware for Oppo phones
Motorola: we're hosting blankflash files for Motorola's Boot Repair procedure from now (files can be downloaded from both the Boot Repair's procedure panel and from the Downloads menu as well)
LG: added Root procedure for LG devices with MTK SoCs (from bootrom mode)
Utility panel: a list of supported file types (firmware pack types) is now shown on the Firmware Extactor panel
It took us over 6 months to test and refine but now our Qualcomm EDL module refactor is released and live. Using official documentation, and a lot of experience and data from previous procedures, we are excited to present our refactored features:
New CPU identification logics
Automatic programmer selection: completely rewritten analysis and assignment logics to ensure that Chimera always selects the correct programmer for every device
New programmers: by now we have over 7200 verified and categorised programmers for more than 150 brands
Bugfixes:
Xiaomi: fixed a bug in Patch IMEI procedure for MTK SoC (mainly Redmi Note 11S 4G/POCO M4 Pro 4G /fleur/ was affected)
Without Test Point: Chimera can automatically change to bootrom mode (soft brick) for most Samsung MTK models (if possible)! We always focused on easy and user friendly solutions and this update means that you can service a lot more devices with Chimera just using a cable, without hardware disassemble.
Automatically fix devices with damaged GPT (bricked)
Added a new Set Knox Guard State procedure
Major changes were done in the Samsung module to help future improvements
Generic MTK:
Various improvements were implemented for the Repair IMEI procedure
Generic Qualcomm:
Retry programmer selection and resend automatically where it's possible (without using the test point again)
Added a new warning dialog to reconnect the battery after a successful programmer upload
Added a new fail-safe mechanism to communicate with programmers that do not strictly comply with the firehose protocol
Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (SM-T225, SM-T225C, SM-T225N, SM-T227)
*: The procedure is available from normal mode and Chimera will try to Soft Brick the device to put it in bootrom mode. If for some reason Soft Bricking doesn’t work, you will have to hardware Test Point to achieve bootrom mode.
